How to Teach (Communicate) 10x Faster/Better. Effortlessly.

There's no gotcha here. Just facts and great strategies.

“Ok… How?”

Here's the punchline… Pictures. The brain's language (comprehension) is 90% Visual.

Here's why…

The brain turns almost all data into images. Because it understands images best and fastest.

When studying research and stats, I'm Very skeptical. Crazy good numbers from studies don't impress me. Historically true does. Below is recent research and historical Truth that align.

Recent Research  - The human brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text¹, and 90 percent of information transmitted to the brain is visual².   https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov › pmc

Historical Truth - “A picture is worth a thousand  words.”

It’s Fact. Simple truth we all know. The brain's native language is visual. It thinks in pictures. That's how it comprehends best and fastest and easiest.

“Ok, but how do we use that in our classroom?”

1. Use fewer words. Cut the fluff. Use only the most powerful words. This leaves tiny gaps the brain loves to fill with pictures instead.  (i.e. - Prediction and Synthesis = high level critical thinking.)

Like this:

“How can you get a cat's attention? A string?”

In just nine words, we've conjured a tiny mental movie of a cat playing with a string - in your mind. You just felt it.

And that experience helps you better understand how irresistible engagement can be triggered. In a cat. And in you.

Other ways to use pictures in teaching . . .

2. Have students take notes with doodles. “Draw graphics to highlight the concept…”        Then...

3. Share those ideas.  (That creates a culture of collaboration and creativity building.)

The teacher can even use the best (with permission) for future lessons. Plus - Giving Credit can turn that student into a Rockstar.

“Hey everybody, see this cool lead graphic for our lesson? Chris Jones gave it to me last year, and I'm going to use it from now on!”

4. Crowdsource searches. Partner up for 5 minutes. “Work together and find a picture that best explains our concept.”

Ownership, creativity, collaboration, Fun, engagement, comprehension, and retention will skyrocket.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

10x your teaching/communication Instantly. Effortlessly.
