"What's My Teaching Superpower?"
Confidently Knowing who you are.
Having the confidence (not arrogance) to just be you. Authentic in your strengths. And weaknesses.
(Everyone else is already taken, anyway.)
That confidence
Cuts through the noise
Attracts your tribe.
Your uniqueness is your edge.
Your quirks are your strengths.
Embrace them. Imperfection is magnetic.
People want 2 top characteristics in their leaders:
Excellence
Warmth
But that ice cream comes in 500 flavors.
So, embody them both, in your own unique way.
Most chase external validation.
They shape-shift to please others.
Don't.
My go-to warmth generators are Corny Dad Jokes and Pitiful Puns.
They fit me and show humility, dorkiness, and silly fun, while taking some pressure off of our high expectations and standards of excellence. Kids get to roll their eyes, groan, and see the expert as a flawed human.
So be you - Unapologetically.
Give your students the gift they can find nowhere else. You!
I wish you well, my friend!
